Banana Fattah (susi)
Yemen in all its glory in yesteryears has been a beautiful country with deep history and rich culture and I have known Yemeni friends to have a very pleasant smile every time I have visited Sana'a, The beautiful Yemeni architecture that embraces each sand buildings on mountain top is a sight, rightly called as Venice of the Middle East.
I have very cherish-able memory of the country, people and food. I do experiment a lot with Yemeni cuisine which is pretty easy to make and their desserts are just delicious and super quick
Today I am sharing a long lost dish which apparently is breakfast item and a Arab version of French Toast - Banana Susi or Fattah as a dessert (its served as sweet and savory too)

Ingredients:
400 ml full cream milk
4tbs melted ghee
03 eggs
03 tablespoons sugar
a pinch of cinnamon
a pinch of nutmeg
Honey
black sesame
03 pieces or Arabic bread (you may use 04 wholewheat toast)
03 ripe banana
Method:
1 - In a baking dish, roughly break the bread pieces and cover the base. cut banana and arrange over the bread
2 - In a blender add eggs, milk, nutmeg, cinnamon, half of the melted butter and sugar. blend it well
3 - Pour the milk egg mixture over the broken bread pieces, Pour half and wait for it to be soaked, Pour remaining mixture
4 - Sprinkle black sesame over the bread and bake in a preheated oven at 190C for 20mins or until its cooked
5 - Turn off the oven mode and turn on the broiler mode and cook for 5-7minutes. Be very careful here to not keep the dish too close to the broiler else it will be over cooked
6 - Once done, turn off the heat. Let it stay in for 10mins. remove it out, let it sit for 15mins
7 - Drizzle left over ghee, honey and done. I have added a scoop of vanilla ice cream to make my dessert dish even more sinful!
